Dutch Jazz Expedition
Mission
The Dutch Jazz Expedition seeks to promote Dutch Jazz in foreign countries and fosters blend projects involving Dutch Jazz musicians with musicians, music, and culture of these countries. Hereby the mission enables such mutually inspiring interactions leading to new music and spreading the creative spirit.
The Dutch Jazz Expedition program is based on the following pillars.
- Presenting the Dutch jazz culture to different parts of the world.
- Creating new markets for Dutch jazz music and jazz with Dutch copyrights
- Exchanging knowledge on the ways governments nurture jazz culture.
- Aiding musical influences from other countries to ‘infect’ Dutch jazz and create musical blends and new products.
- Linking entire jazz networks between countries for maximum effect on cultural and economic dynamics.
- Establishing novel Holland-oriented events and products for Dutch embassies and communities, as well as for Dutch companies operating abroad.
- Aiding in the reinforcement of local jazz networks of partner countries while simultaneously globalising the scope of Dutch jazz.
- Presenting the format of the Dutch Jazzday to jazz-minded communities in other countries
- Establishing liaisons to forge international legal structures concerning Dutch copyright laws, neighbouring rights entities, and copyright laws of participating countries to secure the rights of participating composers and musicians.
